Mohamed Salah tests injured shoulder as Egypt star steps up bid to be fit

Mohamed Salah is desperate to be fit to start Egypt’s World Cup campaign in Russiaand has undergone further strengthening tests on his injured shoulder.The Liverpool star’s participation in Russia was thrown into doubt when he was forced off in the first half of the Champions League final just over a fortnight ago.After tangling with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, the Egyptian landed heavily on his left shoulder and left the field in tears before watching his team-mates lose 3-1.

The Liverpool star is battling to prove his fitness ahead of Egypt’s opener against Uruguay
He is yet to train with his national side team-mates but was named in the 23-man squad for Egypt’s first appearance at a World Cup in 28 years.
He stepped out at the Akhmat Arena in Grozny, where Egypt are based, for training on Tuesday evening but only underwent exercises on his left shoulder.
